Ok. First, here's the setlist, before I forget:(Thanks Katie!)
I:
Suzy Greenberg
All Things Reconsidered
Sloth
Sparkle
Maze
Horn
Poor Heart
My Friend, My Friend
Bouncin'
Antelope
Language Stuff

II:
Glide
Cavern

Eliza
Mike's Groove!

Stash (Thanks Trey!)
Cracklin Rosie! (Fish broke a cymbal on this one!)
Possum

E:Sleeping Monkey
Rockytop

Now, during the signl stuff, Trey let a fifth signal out of the bag, as
it were. Many of us had already figured out the Aw fuck signal, but now
it's
official. I'm not going to describe it. I'm going to post it. (what?)
yeP. I had a Powerbook 140 with me last night, and after the show I
digitized
the signal from one of the taper's tapes. You'll see two posts, in the
very
near future. Theseare two segments of a Mac Stuffit 1.5.1 archive. You
need
Stuffit (any version) to decode it. First you'll have to de-binhex it,
then
you'll need to join the two segments together (both of these options are
under the "other" menu) then you'll have to de-archive it. The sound is
an
snd type 1 resource, which means that if you're running system 7.0+, all
you
have to do is double-clickon it. In system 6, you'll need soundmaster, I
think. Soundmaster and Stuffit are available for anonymous FTP from
sumex-aim.stanford.edu. Any questions, please email me and ask. I'm
going to convert this sound to Sun .au format in a few dayss, never fear,
unix
types.

Adios, Amigos!

Oh, Yeah, Thanks to Ed from Wesleyan for some beers and some good times,
and
Trey's New Llama that may well be onstage in Boston! (yes, the band
now has a two-foot tall stuffed Llama from Peru. Believe it.)

Sorry for jumping the gun, Lee, since I know you're doing a
review,
but I just had to post a couple of highlights from the PortChester
show....

This was an INTENSE show...I had a chance to give Trey a stuffed
llama before the show, and sure enough, it was on stage when I got in,
right
between Mike and Trey on the amps! Wonder if the two-foot-tall llama will
become a part of the regular set; Mike sure had fun playing his bass with
its nose....they didn't play "Llama", though....
Also, during Trey's "Run Like an Antelope" solo, Trey started
playing
the theme to Spiderman ("does whatever a spider can....")! This was tru

Okay, let me start over...Capitol Theatre PortChester N.Y. 5/14/92
This was truly
inspirational...
I noticed that Fishman's BAH cymbals were showing a little
wear-and-
tear; every time he banged them, chips of paint flew all over the place,
as the BAH started to look more like RAH. Fish didn't seem to mind, and
even emitted a big "YEEEAAHH!" when his cymbals broke.
One other thing of interest was Trey's extensive use of the volume
knob last night. He was screwing around with the knob on his guitar for
most of the night, but most notably on Susie Greenberg, he came into the
last chorus with a fast crescendo, making it sound like a jet coming in
when
the chorus started (might there have been a little digital delay in that
as well?).
Oh yes, as Lee mentioned, the "AW FUCK" signal did become official
at Port Chester, with an entire narrative by Trey on the five now-official
signals....but you'll just have to listen to Lee's post.....
Anyway, thanks to Lee for guarding my llama from the would-be
llama-
napper and for bringing the PowerBook and other fun stuff, and to Jeff and
others for making Port Chester the best Phish show for me so far...see
you all at Union!
