To start with, Phish went on five or so minutes before the time listed on
the ticket. So anyone seeing any dates on this tour: be there a little
early.
Luckily I didn't miss anything. They played for approx 50 mix...

Suzie
Foam
Llama
Reba
Rift
Antelope

Way to short for my likings... Anyway, the sound was only OK and could
have
been better, my main complaint is that I couldn't hear Mike. I was
sitting
in the pavilion on the left side. Performance wise I thought it was
pretty
solid. I usually don't like Suzie that much (except for Page's solos) but
thought this one was pretty nice. Trey was on, Page took his usual two
solos:
piano then organ. Foam was pretty hot, very rhythmic. Thank you Jon.
Page
did some mighty fine playing, the man never disappoints me and continues
to
amaze me. Reba and Rift were both good. Antelope scorched and was, for
me,
the highlight. Oh yea, in Foam Trey did this cool thing where he slid the
neck of his guitar up against the mike stand creating this neat slide
effect.

The show was very straight forward. They just walked out on stage,
started
playing and fifty minutes later walked off. No trampolines, no dances, no
vacuum, no signals... Guess they were being tame for the Santana
audience.
They were well received although the place was somewhat empty when they
first
came on (early as it was).

Santana in brief: three excellent percussionists; Carlos was hot;the
singer was
not; not familiar enough to give set list; a little child (Carlos' son?)
stepped
in for a song, played tambourines and then a balloon; for the most part
very
good except for when they strayed into mainstream/popish stuff; highlight
was
an utterly beyond belief scorching Spanish jam into a short Exodus jam,
Carlos
played some wonderful acoustic guitar for the Spanish jam (reminded me
alot
of Garcia/Grisman's Arabia). At the end of the show Carlos thanked Phish
for
playing and gave their names and the corresponding instrument each played.
Unfortunately he had to read it off of a piece of paper. Come on Carlos,
you
can learn their names...

Overall, good.
