One of my favorite shows... this Tweezer is GREAT! The first set is
a
pretty standard set one (for 1992..NICU!), and the general playing
is
good. But what is must-have is Set Two, which 1) opens with Dinner;
2) has a weird bass'ed out special effect when Trey says "Evil King
Wilson" in the gamehendge part of forbinmockingbird, which every fan
MUST HEAR AT ALL COSTS; 3) has a kickass Tweezer, followed by an
ingeniously melodramatic Tela; 4) has a fantastic MikeSGroove
(with a
birthday jam), Weigh!!, Catapult (Mike only), Lively Up Yourself on
vacuum!!!, a vocal jam out of nowhere that is just crazy (it's about
Lively Up Yourself, with the boyz all saying different versions of
'I
hope you didn't think we were making fun of that song' really, really
fast.. it is f*cking hysterical), and, last but not least, SANITY!!!!
I don't even have the complete 2nd set.. Maze is cut (if you have the
whole thing, please, I beg you, let me know) and I have no encores.
This is still one of my favorite sets/shows. Shit, I wish they'd
play
Sanity more often, not to mention Weigh for Icculus' sake. Anyway,
to
the Tweezer.
The groovy echo effect from 4/17 returned for the beginning lyrics
segment of this version.. everybody is also really active in the
beginning.. just slapping notes left and right (well, Trey keeps to
the main theme.. I'm talking Mike and Page, really). It is difficult
for me to describe what happens in the jam. I wish some guitarist out
there would review what Trey does... there is this really cute groovy
melodic jam that Mike, Trey and Page get into for a while.. it really
works, in my opinion. just great. It borders on being dissonant
but
isn't.. it sounds excellent! This is just a really unique jam.. I dont
know if this tune is an actual song, it might be (but I doubt it..
I
think it was just improv'ed, but done sooo sweeetly). This version
really, really kicks with this cool improv in it.. After this cute
jam, Trey cranks back into a tweezeresque groove... after a minute
or
two, the jam peters out as it usually does. At over 13 minutes, it
is
a kickass version and definitely my favorite of those before 4/92.
You
really must get this set, folks. Have to give it an 8.0 rating
(5.0
being average..blah blah blah
