6/18/94 UIC Pavillion, Chicago, IL (Rvwd 12/94) If you don't have set
two, get it, because you are missing a very good
David Bowie that has a sweeeeet Mind Left Body jam in the beginning
(after PEACHES!!). Horn and McGrupp's are in this
set, too!! Anyway, another Tweezer-Lifeboy combo, and a very good one.
The Tweezer is definitely more than great. Shriek in
the very beginning from Fish. The opening lyrics segment is otherwise
standard... Jam takes off immediately after the Ebeneezer
chaos, led by Trey. Lots of sharps on the Languedocs and keys make
this opening part of the jam especially tweezeresque
(erie, dark, und so weiter..). A very grooovy jam.. not rockin' and
thrashin' and wailing.. at this point. A couple of "Oooooohs"
from Mike at the 9 minute mark or so. This steady groove slowly climbs
in typical tweezer fashion and gets very cool..
Everyone soars on their instruments and it is truly spectacular. By
the 11 and a half min mark, Trey is skying above everyone
and it sounds beautiful!! No jerking around, no space. A solid, sweet-sounding
tweezer. Typical dying out segment. Ends after
about 14 minutes or so. 7.0 charlie
