Ooooooh what a great second set.. Llama, Gin,
Sparkle, Tweezer, Horn, Heart, YEM, an Oh Kee Pah->
Terrapin with Mimi Fishman on vacuum, Harry to
close.. mmm good! First set is fairly standard,
outside of the Landlady opener. Anyway, this
Tweezer's opening lyric is pretty standard. Nothing
special. The jam segment starts out very laid back
and coily at first, with kind of a hard rock edge.
Not Tweezeresque. Doesn't have much of a bite. Soon
the jam gets pretty intense (around the 7 min or so
mark), but it is not a typically great jam portion by
this point. Sounds too dissonant. Trey is skying
above everyone rather nicely, though. Some of his
sustains work well, I think, around the 8 minute
mark. A good Tweezer, well-jammed, but I don't think
it is great, which is to say I don't think it is even
an average version or close to it. The dying out
segment comes at the 9 minute mark or so. The tune
ends after about ten minutes. I don't even think I
like this version better than the CD version. A
straightforward well-played Tweezer, but for this
very reason, is not very interesting. 3.5 rating. (D)
