After a false start of Shade, Trey introduced Fishman and referenced his "healing percussion rinse" before restarting the song. A Day in the Life was played for the first time since December 3, 2019 (162 shows). Trey sang a few notes of Down with Disease at the start of the YEM vocal jam.

willie_lutz Down With Disease Fest at Deer Creek! Pretty solid show, albeit with an uneven Set 1 (though the Pillow Jets>Runaway Jim, A Day In The Life sequence to close was very strong). Scents and Subtle Sounds->DWD>What’s The Use is probably the true highlight run of the show. Lots of stuff in here that just feels perfect for a Phish Deer Creek show.

Nice start to the weekend.

Review by Sopath

Sopath I've only been to 5 shows but this one was easily the best. The first set had good energy and everything I want in a first set. PYITE was an amazing opener and I really liked the KDF jam and Halfway to the moon was also good. Heavy Things is a take or it leave it jam for me personally but it was fine. I've heard better LSGs as well. The Scent of the Mule is going to determine whether or not you like this set or not. If you get all worked up about some flubs and botched lyrics you will say INSANE things like "it was an abomination." Scent of the Mule is the best part of set 1. The playing by Page was inspired and brilliant and the interplay between Trey and Page as it intensified was so gripping. Then A Day in The Life was a welcome return. Really loved the dark ending.

Set 2 was just genius. Honestly it was so inspired and creative and I felt like Phish made a god out of music that told us all to surrender to the flow and that we will all be filled with ever lasting splendor.

greppson First set had some really great moments, but felt like it couldn't quite find it's flow. PYITE opener to set the tone for the night. Scent of a Mule felt really special to catch along with Day In the Life.
Second set was straight fire. SaSS had a really nice jam and then the shout outs to DwD all throughout the second set were hilarious. Crowd loved it.
Encore was fantastic. Really great YEM and then the DwD reprise (again).

Been a fan for about 30 years, longer than any other band. But, this was my first show and it was perfect. I love Hoist as an album, so getting to catch Axilla II and DwD x4 felt like such a treat. Excited for the next 2 nights.
