Review by dpwilljr

dpwilljr I read many rumors about guests and chose to take the shows at face value. I was going to see Weir and Lesh together. I dismissed any idea of special guests.
The first night was the only night of all 6 where it was just Bobby and Phil. That night was really something. Radio City Music Hall with all of it's rich history, along with such an intimate performance. I was perfectly fine if it had been just the two of them for the second night.
When I woke up late Saturday afternoon in my hotel and saw the picture of Trey signing an autograph just outside where I'd waited in line the night before.... I thought it might be true.
During the first set, we saw extra gear with a mic stage left. My friend was up in the balcony and texted me that it was definitely Trey's rug.
After an exceptional first set, the curtain went down and there was an unusually long set break. The curtains were drawn at set break the first night, so I didn't expect anything other than a special guest...still not believing it would be Trey.
When the curtain went up as Playin' in the Band started and I saw Trey, I honestly could not believe my eyes.
Bob Weir, Phil Lesh and Trey Anastasio all on stage together with Wally Ingram. Acoustic and electric versions of some of my favorite Grateful Dead songs. Trey's only appearance during the short tour.
Something I will never forget for the rest of my life. Thanks to all the musicians, crew, fans & promoters who made it happen.
