SweataVest4Real I'm surprised that there hasn't been more description of what exactly went down during this 'Drive-In' set. Where was the band in relation to the screen? Were they playing to the video in any sense?

Is this not the sequence that was playing on the screen?

nichobert Did the band forget where the "off" switch to the MAGNABALL lights was?

The band was playing behind the screen, and at certain points, you could see fractally images of Fishman's drums, Page's keys, and Trey and Mike's fingers/fretboards in the corners of the screen with a bunch of weird trippy space shit in between. I'm not sure if it was a really well done live kaleidoscope effect put on actual video of them playing, or if it was all pre-recorded. (it seemed that way to me but i was on a ton of acid)

The band was directly behind the screen, right in the in the center (maybe a little towards stage left if any). Check out the video at about the 24 min mark; there's a good shot of the band that you can see through the screen. Occasionally the live feed video (I-Mag) of the band would show up on the main screen, but would be highly altered artistically to blend in with the other images- you couldn't necessarily make anything more than the outlines of the band member/instrument. I felt, if anything, the video was changing in reaction to the music (similar to the visualizer feature in iTunes).

SweataVest4Real Nice. Thanks for the scoop, y'all.

I like that names of the various nebuli and galaxies were provided. Nice little educational video right there.

Mr_Draned My brother, a friend and I were 1 off the rail for this jam.
When the screen became translucent and you could see the boys locked into that sick jam it was a great culmination of the days events. To space and back.
Mind blowing is an understatement.

Forgot to add that the only downside to where we were is that about 15 minutes into the jam it smelled like someone straight shit themselves in our area. It only lasted a minute, then dissapeared, then came back, then someone called the person out loudly and that was the end of that.
Funny shit, haha!
