History

The wild nature of the second set at Worcester on 11/27/98 is reflected in the appearance of this English Beat song in the middle of a raucous “Chalk Dust Torture.” While Trey took the reins at the start of the “Chalk Dust” jam, Mike’s mind was obviously contemplating the staccato ska of “Mirror,” one of the English Beat’s most popular singles. After Mike plugged the tune’s bass-line into the “Chalk Dust” socket a couple of times, Trey took the cue and electrified the whole thing with some appropriate chording and a couple of verses to boot. Fish and Page naturally complemented with respective drumming and organ work. By the way, this set is a must-have for fans of the wilder shows, and conveniently is captured as Live Phish 06.
